Ever since we were kids, we’ve been told time and again that eating broccoli is good for us. It is very high in vitamins A and C. It can even help fight cancer. However, why do many people don’t like eating it? Why does it taste so bad?
For as long as I remember, I wouldn’t dare to eat a broccoli. I’d just push it around my plate. Eventually, as I grew old, I began to see the health benefits of broccoli and just how important it is. It was then that I began incorporating it into my diet. The one thing I made sure of is the taste. I wanted to enjoy it in my mouth and not force myself to eat it.
The secret is learning to be creative in its preparation. People in the old days boil or steam broccoli. It totally ruins the flavor and makes it quite bland. This is why so many kids are not big fans of the veggie. There are a number of imaginative ways of adding broccoli into your meals. You can add it to your salads or even on your pizza. You can also sauté it with Italian spices, olive oil and mushrooms.
The sky is the limit and there are so many ways to include broccoli in your food without making it appear so scary or taste so undesirable. As for me, I prefer to take it in powder form in combination with other healthy vegetables and herbs. I mix it in fresh fruit juice to make it even more enjoyable to drink.
