How to Get Your Normal Weight

You may find yourself asking what your normal and healthy weight is. You might find it confusing when figuring out what your ideal weight is. It’s hard to find a number that is consistent with all the weight and height charts.

normal weightYou should know that there are three vital indices that determine whether you are at your normal weight. This is the body mass index, the waist-to-hip ratio and the waist size. The BMI is basically the level of body fat based on your height and weight. You can go online to calculate your body mass index. All you need to do is to type in your height, weight and gender to get your number.

Your waist-to-hip ratio is also very important. Those with more weight around the bellies known as “apple-shaped” bodies have a higher risk of a number of serious conditions than those with more weight around the hips known as “pear-shaped” bodies. So that you can assess your own ratio, you will need a couple of measurements.

The first measurement is your waist size. Just wrap the tape measure above the smallest part of your belly button. The hip size is the second measurement. Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your buttocks. After that, input the values into any online calculators. The number you get will indicate if your ratio is healthy. The waist size is also a great indicator of health. If your waist size is around half your height, you are at your normal and healthy weight.
