Mothering
May 10th 2008 · by Catherine Osthaus
Who am I? I am a mother of two awesome girls named Aliena (age 5) and Lauren (age 3). I have
been married to Jonas my husband for five years. I stay at home and raise my children while
Jonas goes off to work. We live in the beautiful countryside with lots of fresh air, trees,
fields and cows. Our life is picture perfect. Many people would love to be in my shoes.
But there is something inside of me… and it is a feeling of powerlessness. When it comes
to emotional health, powerlessness can fuel anger, fear, anxiety and irritation. Some emotions are stronger than others – for me it is fear and anxiety.
As a mother I want the best for my children. The most important thing I can give them is a
happy, loving, stable family and home life. Well this all starts with MOM!
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. A day to debute my journey and regain the personal power that I
lost in the mundane. In future posts I will talk about each specific goal and how I plan to
achieve them.
But for now,
Happy Mother’s Day to all!
