Belly Fat

by Admin on January 26, 2009

I am ashamed to say this but my waist is 31.5″. I have belly fat. I am not an overweight person. In fact my weight this morning is 117lbs at 5′3″ in height. But I am an “apple shape” and since the birth of my kids I have carried belly fat. According to a study that was published in November, 2008 in the New England Journal of Medicine the more fat a person has around their waist then they double their risk of death than someone who does not have belly fat. This study was done in Europe and is one of the largest and longest studies done. It concluded that even if you are not overweight but had belly fat then you are still at increased risk of death.

Abdominal fat also known as visceral fat has been linked to increased risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, cancers and many other health issues. Visceral fat can also surround our organs like the liver and heart. We also carry on our body subcutaneous fat. This is the kind of fat that is underneath our skin and we can see it as cellulite.

Exercise greatly reduces visceral fat. Scott and Angie Tousignant who are creators of the Unstoppable Fat Loss program were able to gain six-pack abs in 12 short weeks. I am also challenging myself to a similar challenge to reduce my belly fat.

Every month Unstoppable Fat Loss holds a transformation contest. The winner is decided upon the change in mindsets, motivation and action on achieving their goals. The winner receives $600 award in prizes.

The next transformation date is February 2!

This is a 21 day transformation contest like no other. It focuses on the mightiest muscle in your body that affects the choices you make for your health. That is your mind. Your mind is the muscle you use if you are going to decide to exercise today or not. Or eat healthy or not. It is the driving force for you to achieve your goals. It is your source of motivation. Your mindsets determine if you will be positive or negative.

In the news we are bombarded with negativity, the kids are whiney and your husband is complaining. Your job may be stressing you out and on your commute to work you may be stuck in traffic. It is no wonder why we may get stuck in a constant negative thinking. But there is something that we can do about it. We can replace our negative thoughts with positive ones. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions and then positive results.

I AM going to lose my belly fat using the Unstoppable Fat Loss program and become healthy.
